Press Release Example 2

ROME, Ga. - Berry College Office of the Chaplain will host the annual Possum Trot Homecoming Service on Sunday (Sept. 20) by streaming the service online at 11 am.

The public is welcome to watch the service on the Berry College Religious Life page (www.Berry.edu/religiouslife) from their homes. The Rev. Jonathan Huggins will preside over the service with senior Sam Harris as the student speaker.

The Homecoming Service is a traditional church service held annually to highlight the history of Possum Trot. The church is the "cradle of Berry College." Built originally around 1850, the old church was appropriated by Martha Berry for the Possum Trot Sunday School in 1900. The needs of the people at Possum Trot, and places like it, inspired Berry to build the schools to help children of the area learn how to use their talents and resources.

For more information, contact the Office of the Chaplain at (706) 236-2217.
